The root of this plant is similar to the root of the Japanese artichoke that is a delicacy in France. Bees love the blossoms! Marsh Woundwort as an indigenous wild shrub grows very well on moist soils and forms small, full-valued, and nutritious tubers. Boiled, they taste slightly nutty and can be used well as asparagus. However, dried and ground, the root tubers are also suitable for flour. Apart from that, the marsh woundwort also serves as an old medicinal plant against convulsive aches. Self-medication isn't recommended.
