Chia is a lush, annual sage variety and its seeds are known as a superfood. They contain a high content of omega-3 fatty acids which are essential for the body. The other option would be to eat fish, which is why the plant and its seeds are especially interesting for vegetarians and vegans. Furthermore, flaxseeds would be an alternative.

Other than garden sage, chia can reach 175cm in only one vegetation period. This sage variety originates from Mexico and South America. It, therefore, loves very sunny locations and tropical temperatures.
