Very decorative annual ornamental grass for garden or container planting. The plant’s name comes from its flower-heads, which really do look like little white fluffy hare’s tails. If you cut the flower-heads in dry weather and hang them upside down to dry they work very well in dried-flower arrangements and wreaths. Of course they can also be used fresh in cut-flower displays. Bunnytail, to use its other name, also makes an excellent edging plant for patios or pathways, its dense, low-level growth creating a very painterly effect. It works well in a rock garden and also in pots and tubs.
