This regional German lettuce variety from Kassel is very original and robust. It is an heirloom romaine cultivar and does not form a head, but the young leaves are picked and used as lettuce. In addition, the vigorous thick stems of the Kasseler Strünkchen are harvested and peeled and used as delicately juicy vegetables.
