Hyssop was named by Hippocrates. In the Old Testament, herb hyssop is already mentioned as a purifying plant. It was once considered a panacea, a cure for all kinds of diseases. In the 1st century, Dioscorides recommended a recipe with hyssop, figs, rue, honey and water as a versatile medicine for pleurisy, asthma, and chronic cough. The young shoot tips are also used as a spice, for example for salads.

Ysop
Hab es nicht vorgezogen sondern direkt ins freiland gesäät. War vl. etwas leichtsinnig, es sind nämlich nur 2 Samen aufgegangen. Die haben sich allerdings im 2. Jahr zu einer riesigen Pflanze entwickelt. Ist extrem robust, schnittverträglich, blüht wie verrückt und das Aroma ist umwerfend. Bienen lieben den Ysop auch.
