Indian Mint is a plant with beautiful, crimson to pink blossoms that exude a pleasant, rather bitter citrus scent. The plant originates from North America and, there, is known as a fragrant and medicinal plant and a kitchen herb. Indian Mint can be used versatilely: The leaves also have a lemony taste and can be used raw as well as boiled. They are delicious as an aromatic herb for salads and meat dishes, as tea, syrup, or also for flavouring lemonades. The tea is said to have healing powers. It's said to have an anticonvulsant effect on the digestive tract and the bronchial tubes. Indian Mint is highly appreciated by bees and butterflies due to its nectar. In the USA, the essential oil is, however, used as a repellent against stinging insects.
