The Chinese Leaf Mustard (Brassica juncea var. rugosa), a subvariety of Indian Mustard, is a rewarding plant for the vegetable bed. After a few weeks, the hot leaves can already be harvested and consumed fresh or prepared in the wok. The taste is reminiscent of mustard with a cress-like tanginess. For a longer harvest period, the blossom roots should be broken away and you should make sure not to harm the cabbage heart.
