"Frühe Heinrich" is an old, Dutch snow pea that also tolerates light frost and forms tender, light green pea pods. Very few know that the peas can be eaten raw directly from the shrub. The young peas are especially sweet and a true delicacy. The sugar pea is often used in Asian cuisine but also in Europe as a traditional vegetable. The delicious pods of this old variety are cooked with the pod or can be eaten raw.
