The tomato 'Andine Cornue' is one of the original tomato varieties from the Andes. It is believed that it was imported to Europe by a French collector, hence the French name. This variety is also known under the following names: Cornue des Andes, Horn of the Andes, Rouge des Andes, Red banana and Red Bull Horn Tomato. As the name suggests, the fruits have a very special form, because they look like red peppers and can actually occasionally reach a length up to 18 cm. They are thick-walled, resistant, have few seeds and are not very juicy, which is why they are very suitable for tomato salad, pizza, filling or for cooking tomato sauce. Overall this Peruvian tomato variety is very robust and productive, but rather late maturing.
