Heimia Salifolia is a foliate, deciduous, tropical shrub from the loosestrife family that reaches up to 3 metres in height. Its home is Central and South America, where it grows in sunny and half-shady trenches and near waters. Despite its tropical origin, it's partly hardy and, with its numerous yellow blossoms, which it bears in spring, it's suitable as a cut shrub.
The leaves, which, prepared as tea, have an anticonvulsant and calming effect, are used as a medicinal herb. Sinicuichi, in Brazil also known as Sun Opener (Abre-o-Sol) or Willow-Leaf Heimia, was an ordinance in Aztech culture. A drink prepared from the withered leaves of the Sinicuiche shrub was said to lead to a relaxed state of intoxication with altered hearing and visual yellowing. The memory is also said to be improved by the consumption of the active plant parts. In younger times, the dream plant has gained significance.
Seeds, content: Approx. 500 Sinicuichi seeds
