Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
Oregano is one of the classic Italian kitchen herbs and its leafs are essential for seasoning pizza and plenty other iconic Mediterranean dishes. It is also an important plant for bees and insects, which feed off its nectar.
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)
Rosemary is probably among the most important Mediterranean kitchen herbs and tastes delightful in combination with potatoes, red meat and courgettes. It is also a uniquely scented old medicinal plant, which can act as a natural pesticide.
Sage (Salvia officinalis)
Sage is a traditional medicinal-, and kitchen herb descending from the mediteranean and tastes lovely with meat and fish.
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
The characteristic flavour of thyme works really well for seasoning stews, soups, fish and meat dishes. Prepared as a tea infusion, it also helps to relieve diseases of the respiratory tract.
