The Coreopsis variety 'Sterntaler' is a relatively short-lived herbaceous perennial with a long flowering season – extending all the way from June to September. In a garden the yellow flowers shine out from afar, attracting many beneficial insects. A closer look reveals the beauty of the individual blooms, with their delicate petals and striking red-brown centres. This plant, also known as Tickseed, needs a very warm, sunny spot in a garden, because it’s originally from North and South America, where it grows mainly in prairie habitats in the wild. This explains why it hates waterlogging above all. The variety 'Sterntaler' is relatively low-growing and therefore very well suited for growing on balconies or in containers. Coreopsis make excellent cut flowers for vases.
