Lavender grows as a low shrub in rocky coastal regions of the Mediterranean area. Imported by Benedictine monks it entered monastery gardens north of the Alps. Because of its wonderful fragrance, lavender is often used for cosmetics. A tea brewed from lavender petals is considered calming. Lavandula angustifolia is a particularly essential Lavender species which is particularly rich in essential oils, has antiseptic qualities and the added bonus of warding off fleas and moths.

Lavendel
Ich liebe den Duft. Letztes Jahr Ende April direkt ins Freiland gesät und im Juli schon an dem herrlichen Anblick erfreut. Gleich wunderschöne Duftsäckchen hergestellt.
