Soft Pink Floral Dreams for Romantic Borders – A Classic with Apple Blossom Charm

The Snapdragon 'Appleblossom' is an especially elegant cultivar of Antirrhinum majus, whose delicate pink blooms are reminiscent of apple blossoms. The upright plants grow to around 80 to 90 cm tall and produce dense, gracefully structured flower spikes with a nostalgic flair. Thanks to its gentle colour palette, 'Appleblossom' is perfectly suited to romantic summer borders, cottage gardens, and refined floral arrangements.

Like all snapdragons, this variety belongs to the group of “Cool Flowers” – meaning it can be sown very early in the year, tolerates cool temperatures well, and grows into strong, long-flowering plants. Sowing and Care of Antirrhinum majus

Snapdragons are easy to grow, drought-tolerant, and prefer sunny locations. For early flowering, it is recommended to start them indoors on a windowsill:

Indoor sowing: From February, sow indoors on moist seed compost.
Light-dependent germinator: Scatter the seeds on the surface and press down gently – do not cover with soil.
Germination temperature: 15–18 °C. Germination occurs after 10–14 days.
Direct sowing: Possible from April onwards. Autumn sowing with protected overwintering is also an option.
Position: Full sun; well-drained, low-nutrient soil.
