Brilliant White Elegance – 'Snowflake' for Stylish Garden Highlights

The Snapdragon 'Snowflake' is an especially elegant cultivar of Antirrhinum majus, distinguished by its pure white flower spikes that lend a crisp, refined touch to the garden. Plants reach a height of approximately 80 to 90 cm and produce upright, densely packed flower racemes that bloom continuously over many weeks. 'Snowflake' is ideal for sunny beds, borders, and makes an excellent cut flower. As a so-called “Cool Flower”, it can be sown early in the year, resulting in stronger plants and an extended flowering period.

Sowing and Care of Antirrhinum majus

Snapdragons are easy to care for, drought-tolerant, and prefer sunny locations. For an early flowering display, we recommend starting them indoors on a windowsill:

Indoor sowing: From February, sow indoors on moist seed compost.
Light-dependent germinator: Scatter seeds on the surface and press down lightly without covering with soil.
Germination temperature: 15–18 °C. Germination occurs after 10–14 days.
Direct sowing: Possible from April onwards. Autumn sowing with protected overwintering is also an option.
Position: Full sun; well-drained, low-nutrient soil.
