In Brazilian cooking you often find recipes in which a whole bunch of fresh herbs is added to infuse the food with lovely flavours. Traditionally this so-called ‘Cheiro Verde’ bundle (which loosely translates to ‘green scent’) is a combination of parsley, chives, cilantro (coriander) and fresh mint tied together.

For this seed kit we hand selected our favourite 4 herb varieties for the traditional Brazilian kitchen herb selection 'Cheiro Verde':

Chives (Allium schoenoprasum)There is nothing more enjoyable than the simple pleasure of freshly chopped chives crowning a slice of bread and butter!
Italian Parsley (Petroselinum crispum)This lovely flat-leafed parsley variety from Italy has a particularly delicate aroma.
Peppermint (Mentha piperta)Peppermint is an old, traditional herb-, tea-, and medicinal plant with refreshing aroma.
Cilantro, Leaf coriander (Coriandrum sativum)Cilantro is also nicknamed ‘the parsley’ of Mexican and Asian cooking. Always add the freshly chopped leaves just before serving the food.
