For this seed kit we hand selected 5 traditional French herb varieties typically used for sauces and herb butter recipes:

Sweet basil 'Genovese' (Ocimum basilikum)
‘Genovese’ is the classic, Italian basil variety, with large, slightly tangy tasting leaves, which put pesto on the culinary world map. It is also ideal for infusing caprese salads.
Tarragon (Artemisia dracunculus)
Tarragon is an exquisitely tasting kitchen herb, originating from Siberia, which compliments fish-, and poultry dishes particularly well.
Curly leaf parsley (Petroselinum crispum)
This is a robust and very aromatic parsley variety with curly leaves
Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana)
Most people are familiar with the taste of marjoram because it is the key herb for seasoning sausages, with the ‘Thuringian bratwurst’ being the most famous example.
Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)
The characteristic flavour of thyme works really well for seasoning stews, soups, fish and meat dishes. Prepared as a tea infusion, it also helps to relieve diseases of the respiratory tract.
