All tomato varieties whose fruits do not grow to a diameter of more than 2.5 cm are grouped together under the term cherry tomatoes. They can also be found under cocktail tomatoes or simply baby tomatoes. What they all have in common is the higher sugar content of the fruits, which makes them particularly aromatic. The sweet little tomatoes are therefore often snacked whole or used in salads, quiches and pasta sauces as decorative, aromatic eye-catchers.
