The well-known dandelion is a versatilely used plant - we offer it in a very productive cultivar. The blossoms and seed stems of the dandelion are beautiful to look at and from the blossoms, syrup can be cooked. The young leaves give a tasty salad.
The roots can be roasted like coffee or lifted in autumn and left sprouting indoors. Therefore, they are put in a bucket with a little bit of moist soil close to each other and covered with a lid, for example. At 12 to 18°C, in the next weeks, wonderful, tender, bleached dandelions, similar to the chicory, can be harvested.
Cultural forms of the dandelion are spread especially in France and Turkey. This variety has especially large, pulpy leaves. Also in medicine, the dandelion is known for its detoxifying and digestive effects.

The perennial dandelion is very undemanding in cultivation. The seeds are sown either in March to May or directly outdoors in August. In order to harvest leaves as long as possible and keep them from getting bitter, the flowers should be broken off. In autumn, the turnips can be lifted and used like chicory for sprouting indoors.
