This wild cabbage is probably the original form of many of today's cultivars and cabbage varieties. It grows on rocks and coastal cliffs of the Atlantic. In its natural home on stony, low-nutrient soil, wild cabbage grows very slowly, but in good garden soil it rapidly develops into a stately shrub.
