Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys pubescens) is the largest bamboo cultivar that can survive in temperate climates. It reaches a height of between 4 and 30 m. North of the Alps, these gigantic dimensions are rarely achieved. Moso bamboo, however, is also hardy in Central Europe! Moreover, Phyllostachys pubescens is an important crop.
