La salvia argentea è una varietà di salvia particolarmente bella e imponente adatta ad un giardino naturale. È una pianta perenne ornamentale. La grande rosetta di foglie è composta da foglie di forma ovoidale la cui parte superiore è ricoperta da una leggera peluria di colore bianco-argento. Al sole sembrano di velluto bianco. Soprattutto al mattino, quando la rugiada si raccoglie sulla superficie delle foglie, hanno un aspetto magico.

Ma questa pianta perenne ha molto di più da offrire: anche l'infiorescenza, alta e ampiamente ramificata, ha un bell'aspetto ed è posizionata proprio in cima alla rosetta di foglie, in modo estremamente affascinante. Gli amanti della salvia ne saranno entusiasti.

La salvia argentata si inserisce bene in una bordura mediterranea o in un giardino roccioso. Preferisce posizioni calde e soleggiate.
