A very rare lettuce indeed! The slightly salty tasting leaves appear to be coated in ice crystals, although the plant originally stems from South Africa, thus preferring dry and sunny spots. Ice plant is fairly easy to cultivate.

Growing instructions
This annual plant is easy to grow so long as it is in a sunny position. Sow seeds in spring indoors, only just covering the seed. When they are large enough to handle, prick them out into individual pots and plant them out after the last expected frosts.
