This Italian broccoli rabe is known as Cime di Rapa and is a delicious green winter vegetable that tastes slightly bitter and peppery. The spicy stalk cabbage is cultivated in the Mediterranean, resembles broccoli and is also used similarly. The flower buds, however, are much more elegant and have a slightly stronger taste. Also the leaves and delicate stems of Cima di Rapa are eaten.
