Mexican Teosinte is presumable the wild form of maize. It's used like grain maize and can be crossed like Zea mays. Needs a little bit more warmth. The particular about Mexican Teosinte is that the grains simply fall off when it's mature and, thereby, sow themselves. Today's maize has lost this characteristic.
