Incense Herb Seeds

Incense is made of plants that develop a soothing, aromatic smoke when they are burnt. People have probably been burning dried plants since they first learned how to make a fire, and the aromatic smoke was more of a coincidental byproduct of fire.

Quickly, however, it was found that the smoke of certain plants can have many different effects on people, and the first incense-related cleansing rituals for medical, religious, prophetic and magical purposes were created - like fumigating houses to clean them of pests or evil spirits or burning holy plants on special occasions.

But even burning herbs solely for enjoying their aromatic scent has a very long tradition in all cultures around the world. And many of these plants and herbs are very easy to grow in your garden and will give you plenty of pure, natural homegrown incense.
