The Armenian Cucumber is an ancient, Asian crop plant that found its way to Europe over Armenia and received its name like that. Botanically speaking, the Armenian Cucumber is a melon. However, most often, it's not harvested fully ripe, used like a snake gourd, and consumed raw. The skin is thin and doesn't have to be removed.
It has a mild-aromatic taste and is very digestible.
If you let it ripe fully, it can reach a length of up to one metre and the pulp contains a rather melon-like taste. In Japanese cuisine, it's known as Uri. In Indian cuisine, it's also known and used boiled in curries.
Cucumis melo var. flexuosus seeds, content: Approx. 5 Armenian Cucumber seeds
